Ingredients

For the Base
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 pint Blueberries Fresh or frozen
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice Substitute with lime juice if desired
For Sweetness
  • 1 tablespoon Honey Can be replaced with agave syrup or cane sugar
For Garnish
  • 8-10 leaves Mint Leaves Optional but recommended

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Spatula

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Start by pouring 2 cups of cold water into a blender, then add 1 pint of fresh blueberries that have been thoroughly rinsed. Blend on high for about 30 seconds, or until the mixture becomes a smooth and vibrant purée.
  2. To create a refreshing drink without any pulp, take a fine mesh strainer and place it over a large bowl or pitcher. Pour the blended blueberry mixture into the strainer, allowing the liquid to pass through while catching any solids.
  3. Stir in 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice into the smooth blueberry liquid. Mix well until the honey dissolves completely.
  4. Fill two tall glasses with ice cubes and carefully pour the prepared Blueberry Agua Fresca over the ice. Garnish each glass with a few fresh mint leaves.
