Step-by-Step Instructions for Buttery Cranberry Crumble Bars
- In a saucepan, combine fresh cranberries, granulated sugar, and water. Cook over medium heat while stirring for about 15 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Sift together all-purpose flour and kosher salt in a mixing bowl. In another bowl, beat softened unsalted butter until smooth, then add light brown sugar and vanilla.

- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
- Press two-thirds of the dough into the prepared baking pan and prick the surface. Bake for about 17-18 minutes until lightly browned.
- Spread the cooled cranberry filling evenly over the base, then crumble the remaining dough on top and press gently.
- Bake assembled bars for another 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown.
