  • 30 ml water omit if not making sauce
For the Garnish
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional for gluten-free
  • 2 pieces green onions, chopped can substitute with chives

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper until glossy.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Place chicken thighs in a resealable bag or dish, pour the marinade on top, seal or cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 4 hours.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add oil if needed, remove chicken from marinade, and cook for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  4. Prepare the Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine reserved marinade with a slurry made from cornstarch and water, simmer until thickened.
  5. Serve and Garnish: Drizzle sauce over cooked chicken, sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
