  • 12 pieces Wonton Wrappers Fresh or frozen, rice paper for gluten-free.
For the Soup Base
  • 8 cups Chicken Broth Use vegetable broth for vegetarian.
  • 1 cup Carrots Chopped.
  • 1 cup Celery Chopped.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley Chopped, for garnish.

Method
 

Prepare Meat Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onions, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, and a pinch of nutmeg and allspice. Mix until well incorporated, about 3-5 minutes.
Assemble Dumplings
  1. Lay out a wonton wrapper, place about a teaspoon of meat filling in the center, moisten edges with water, fold to seal, ensuring no air pockets.
Make the Soup Base
  1. In a large pot, pour in the chicken or vegetable broth over medium-high heat. Add chopped carrots and celery, simmer for about 5-10 minutes.
Cook Dumplings
  1. Drop assembled dumplings into the broth in batches, cooking for 8-10 minutes until they float and are fully cooked.
Season and Serve
  1. Taste the broth and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Stir in chopped parsley and serve hot.
