Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Cook the gnocchi in a large pot of salted water until they float, about 2-4 minutes. Drain and keep warm.
  2. Brown the Italian sausage in a skillet with olive oil over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until golden.
  3. Sauté minced garlic in the same skillet for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add butternut squash and heavy cream to the skillet, cooking for 3-5 minutes until thickened.
  5. Combine the gnocchi and sausage in the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce, heating for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with Parmesan cheese and herbs if desired.
