Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large pot over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Add 1 finely diced onion and 2 minced garlic cloves, cooking for about 5 minutes until soft and fragrant.
  2. Stir in 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, allowing it to cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  3. Gradually pour in 4 cups of seafood stock while stirring gently. Bring to a gentle simmer and let it bubble softly for about 10 minutes.
  4. Gently mix in 1 cup of lump crab meat, 1 cup of peeled and deveined large shrimp, and the meat from 1 lobster tail. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  5. Using an immersion blender, puree half of the bisque in the pot, keeping some chunks of seafood for texture. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper before serving hot.
