  • 200 g Dried Pasta whole wheat or gluten-free options
For the Sauce
  • 1 medium Onion (chopped) yellow or white onions
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced) use fresh garlic for best taste
  • 1 tsp Honey maple syrup can be a vegan alternative
  • 200 ml Cooking Cream plant-based cream or Greek yogurt can lighten
  • 125 g Cherry Tomatoes any ripe tomatoes will do
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Paste substitute with tomato puree if needed
  • 1 ladle Pasta Water reserve while cooking
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
For the Protein
  • 150 g Tuna in juice or tuna in water for lighter option

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Boil a large pot of salted water. Add 200 g of dried pasta and cook for 10-12 minutes until al dente. Reserve 1 ladle of pasta water, then drain.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic for 3-4 minutes until onion is translucent.
  3. Add halved cherry tomatoes and tomato paste to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes, then stir in honey to deglaze.
  4. Pour in cooking cream and reserved pasta water. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
  5. Fold in drained tuna, breaking it into bite-sized pieces. Season with salt and pepper, heating through for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Add drained pasta to the skillet, tossing with sauce for an even distribution. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve Tuna Pasta in bowls or plates, garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
