Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by draining and pressing 400 grams of firm tofu for 15-20 minutes to eliminate excess moisture.
  2. Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes, ensuring uniform sizes for even cooking.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together 4 tablespoons of honey, 4 cloves of minced garlic, 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, and 2 tablespoons of sesame oil. Whisk until thoroughly combined.
  4. Pour 1/2 cup of cornstarch into a shallow dish. Dredge each tofu cube in cornstarch, ensuring even coating.
  5. Heat about 1 cup of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Fry the coated tofu cubes in batches for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Lower the heat to medium. Pour the honey garlic sauce into the skillet and simmer for about 1 minute. Add the fried tofu cubes, gently tossing to coat.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot over rice or with stir-fried vegetables.
