  • 1 cup Milk Chocolate Chips Can replace with white chocolate
  • 0.5 cups Butter Unsalted preferred
  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 packet Hot Chocolate Mix Substitutable with cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Can use peppermint extract for stronger flavor
For the Marshmallow Layer
  • 2 cups Marshmallows Mini marshmallows mix more easily
For the Garnish
  • 2 pieces Peppermint Candy Canes or Crushed Peppermints Other small candies can also be used

Equipment

  • Double boiler
  • 8x8-inch pan

Method

Preparation Instructions
  1. Begin by lining an 8x8-inch pan with foil or parchment paper, ensuring it hangs over the edges for easy removal. Spray the lined pan lightly with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. In a double boiler, combine semi-sweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, butter, sweetened condensed milk, and hot chocolate mix. Stir continuously over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until melted and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in marshmallows, mixing for about 1 minute until they’re evenly incorporated and starting to melt.
  4. Add vanilla extract, mixing well to combine everything thoroughly.
  5. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, using a spatula to spread it evenly. Press any remaining marshmallows gently on top.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or until set and firm to the touch.
  7. Melt additional semi-sweet chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and drizzle over the chilled fudge. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
