- Begin by placing 8 ounces of white chocolate and 1 tablespoon of vegetable shortening in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat the mixture in the microwave at medium power for 30 seconds, stirring well after each interval until smooth and fully melted, about 1-2 minutes total.
- Take a large marshmallow and dip its bottom into the melted chocolate, coating it generously. Position the chocolate-dipped marshmallow on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Stack two more marshmallows on top, ensuring each layer is glued with the melted chocolate. Chill in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
- Retrieve your chilling creation from the refrigerator and carefully coat the entire marshmallow figure with the remaining melted chocolate. Allow excess chocolate to drip off before returning it to the parchment paper and letting it set for approximately 15 minutes.
- While the chocolate coating is still wet, gently press the candy eyes onto the front of the marshmallow figure. Allow the chocolate to harden completely at room temperature, about 20-30 minutes.
