Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, nutmeg, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl until combined.
  3. Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture and beat until combined.
  5. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Scoop rounded balls of dough onto the lined baking sheet, spacing them about two inches apart.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are light golden brown.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Sprinkle the warm cookies with powdered sugar and nutmeg before cooling completely.
