Step-by-Step Instructions for Gordon Ramsay Steak Marinade
  1. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together ¼ cup of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar or red wine vinegar, 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, and 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard. Add 3 cloves of minced garlic, mixing until smooth.
  2. Stir in 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh rosemary and 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme, followed by 1 teaspoon of coarse sea salt and ½ teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper. Optionally include crushed red pepper flakes or lemon zest.
  3. Place 1–2 lbs of your choice steak in a zip-top bag or a shallow dish. Pour the prepared marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated.
  4. Seal the zip-top bag tightly, or cover the dish with plastic wrap. Let the steak marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or ideally up to 8 hours.
  5. When ready to cook, remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off back into the vessel.
  6. Cook the steak on the preheated grill or skillet, about 4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  7. Once cooked, transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
