Step-by-Step Instructions for Gordon Ramsay Steak Marinade
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together ¼ cup of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar or red wine vinegar, 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, and 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard. Add 3 cloves of minced garlic, mixing until smooth.
- Stir in 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh rosemary and 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme, followed by 1 teaspoon of coarse sea salt and ½ teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper. Optionally include crushed red pepper flakes or lemon zest.
- Place 1–2 lbs of your choice steak in a zip-top bag or a shallow dish. Pour the prepared marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated.
- Seal the zip-top bag tightly, or cover the dish with plastic wrap. Let the steak marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or ideally up to 8 hours.
- When ready to cook, remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off back into the vessel.
- Cook the steak on the preheated grill or skillet, about 4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- Once cooked, transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
