  • 1 Onion Yellow onions are best.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Freshly minced is preferred.
  • 4 Potatoes Russet or Yukon Gold are ideal.
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese Shredded, can substitute with dairy-free cheese.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese Grated, optional.
  • 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning Dried oregano or basil can be used.
  • 1 tsp Paprika Smoked paprika adds flavor.
  • to taste Salt and Pepper Essential seasonings.
  • 1 cup Beef Broth or Water Chicken broth can be used for different flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Milk Optional, can omit or replace with plant-based milk.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley For garnishing.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and cook ground beef for 5–7 minutes until browned.
  3. Add onion and garlic to the skillet, sauté for 3–4 minutes until onions are soft.
  4. Transfer beef mixture to the baking dish and layer thinly sliced potatoes on top.
  5. Sprinkle cheese over potatoes, then pour beef broth around the edges.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is golden brown.
  8. Garnish with parsley before serving.
