Ingredients
  

For the Dough
  • 4 cups bread flour can substitute with all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons instant dry yeast use active dry yeast if preferred
  • 1 teaspoon salt essential for taste
  • 1.5 cups warm water 105-115°F for activation
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or any light cooking oil
For the Sauce
  • 28 ounces crushed tomatoes or fresh tomatoes blended
  • 2 cloves garlic minced, fresh is recommended
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano or fresh herbs for stronger flavor
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil or fresh herbs for stronger flavor
  • to taste red pepper flakes optional for extra spice
For the Toppings
  • 2 cups low-moisture mozzarella cheese can use fresh mozzarella, drain if necessary
  • 1.5 cups pepperoni slices or turkey pepperoni for a healthier option
  • 1 cup provolone cheese optional, any cheese can be used
  • 1/2 cup hot honey or honey mixed with chili flakes
  • to taste fresh basil leaves optional garnish

Method
 

Prepare Dough
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine bread flour, instant dry yeast, and salt. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
  2. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
Knead and Rise
  1. Shape the dough into a ball, place in a greased bowl, and cover with a towel. Let it rise in a warm area for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled.
Make Sauce
  1. Sauté minced garlic in olive oil over medium heat for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Stir in crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, and optional red pepper flakes. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Prepare Hot Honey
  1. In a small saucepan, combine hot honey and bring to a simmer over low heat. Stir in apple cider vinegar and cook for 5-10 minutes.
Preheat Oven
  1. Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C), placing baking stone inside for 30 minutes before baking.
Shape Pizza
  1. Once dough has risen, punch it down and roll it into a 12-inch circle.
  2. Transfer the shaped dough onto a floured pizza peel or baking sheet.
Assemble Pizza
  1. Spread sauce over the dough, sprinkle mozzarella cheese, and arrange pepperoni and provolone cheese on top.
Bake
  1. Slide the assembled pizza onto the preheated baking stone in the oven. Bake for 8-12 minutes until golden brown.
Finish and Serve
  1. Remove pizza from oven and drizzle hot honey. Optionally garnish with fresh basil and slice to serve.
