  • 4 tablespoons butter melted

Method
 

Step 1: Prepare the Dough
  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast in a mixing bowl and let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, cornmeal, salt, olive oil, and melted butter. Mix until the dough forms, then knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  3. Cover and let rise in a warm area for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
Step 2: Make the Sauce
  1. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat, sauté minced garlic for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Stir in crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, and salt. Simmer for 20-30 minutes.
Step 3: Assemble the Pizza
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C) and grease a deep dish pan.
  2. Press risen dough into the pan, then layer mozzarella cheese, optional meats, and sauce. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
Step 4: Bake
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Cover with foil halfway through for even cooking.
  2. Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
