  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce Soy sauce can be a good alternative.
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust according to preference.
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper Adjust according to preference.
For the Wrapping
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry Phyllo dough can be used for a lighter option.
  • 1 large Egg Wash Milk can also work if you prefer.
For the Garnish
  • 2 pieces Olives For spooky eyes.
  • 1 cup Ketchup or BBQ Sauce Customize for extra flavor.

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • Rolling Pin
  • Oven

Method

Directions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well using your hands until everything is evenly incorporated, forming a cohesive mixture. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while you get the filling ready.
  2. Transfer the meat mixture onto a lightly greased baking sheet, shaping it into a loaf about 10 inches long and 4 inches wide. Aim for a smooth surface and even shape.
  3. Thaw the puff pastry according to package instructions, then roll it out on a floured surface. Cut the pastry into strips about 1-inch wide.
  4. Layer the puff pastry strips over the meatloaf, creating a crisscross pattern. Leave gaps for the 'eyes' and brush each strip with the egg wash.
  5. Place the wrapped meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Remove the Mummy Meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes. Place two olives atop the loaf for spooky eyes and drizzle ketchup or BBQ sauce.
