Directions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well using your hands until everything is evenly incorporated, forming a cohesive mixture. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while you get the filling ready.
- Transfer the meat mixture onto a lightly greased baking sheet, shaping it into a loaf about 10 inches long and 4 inches wide. Aim for a smooth surface and even shape.
- Thaw the puff pastry according to package instructions, then roll it out on a floured surface. Cut the pastry into strips about 1-inch wide.
- Layer the puff pastry strips over the meatloaf, creating a crisscross pattern. Leave gaps for the 'eyes' and brush each strip with the egg wash.
- Place the wrapped meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Remove the Mummy Meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes. Place two olives atop the loaf for spooky eyes and drizzle ketchup or BBQ sauce.
