  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar Honey or maple syrup can be used as alternatives
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Ginger Ground ginger can substitute
  • 1 clove Garlic Garlic powder works fine if fresh isn't available
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil Optional for milder flavor
For Garnishing
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds Optional garnish
  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes Optional for heat
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Green Onions For garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the teriyaki sauce by mixing cornstarch with water, then combining with orange juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced ginger, and garlic. Simmer until thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with oiled foil.
  3. Line the baking sheet with foil, place the salmon skin-side down, and baste with half of the teriyaki sauce.
  4. Bake the salmon for about 14 minutes until opaque and flaky.
  5. Baste the salmon with remaining teriyaki sauce, switch to broil, and char for an additional minute.
  6. Garnish the salmon with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, then serve over steamed rice.
