  • 3 tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar (light) or red wine vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons Olive Oil extra virgin for best flavor

  • 1 French baguette Baguette day-old preferred

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare Tomatoes: Wash tomatoes and cut into wedges or cubes. Sprinkle with salt.
  2. Prep Tuna: Drain canned tuna and flake it into chunky pieces.
  3. Chop Aromatics: Finely chop shallots and garlic and place in a mixing bowl.
  4. Mix Dressing: Whisk balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and pepper in a small bowl.
  5. Combine Ingredients: Add tomatoes and tuna to the bowl, drizzle with dressing, and toss.
  6. Toast Bread: Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F), dice baguette, drizzle with olive oil, and toast for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Finish Salad: Fold in croutons and add torn basil leaves before serving.
