Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sliced ginger, sugar, and water. Stir and let it simmer for about 2 minutes until the sugar dissolves.
  2. While the syrup cools, rub the rims of four highball glasses with a lime wedge and coat them with brown sugar.
  3. In each glass, add fresh mint leaves and lime wedges. Pour 2 tablespoons of ginger simple syrup into each and muddle gently.
  4. Fill each glass with crushed ice. Pour white rum into each glass, filling them halfway.
  5. Top each glass with blood orange soda, pouring slowly to maintain layers.
  6. Drizzle unsweetened cranberry juice over each mojito to create a float.
  7. Garnish with fresh mint leaves, cranberries, and slivers of candied ginger. Serve immediately.
