  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced) reduce if using dried garlic
  • 1 tablespoon honey can substitute with maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme reduce amount if using dried thyme
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
For the Steak
  • 1 pound sirloin steak cut into bite-sized cubes
For Cooking

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together ¼ cup balsamic vinegar, 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until well emulsified.
  2. Cut 1 pound of sirloin steak into bite-sized cubes and add them to the marinade, tossing to ensure they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat for about 3 minutes until shimmering hot.
  4. Carefully place the marinated steak cubes into the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes without moving, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Pour any remaining marinade into the skillet. Stir continuously and cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Remove the pan from heat and let the steak bites rest for 2 minutes in the skillet.
