Ingredients
  

For the Salmon
  • 2 fillets Salmon Rich in omega-3 fatty acids; trout can substitute.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil Any neutral oil can be used.
For the Glaze
  • 2 tablespoons Honey For a vegan option, use maple syrup.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced; garlic powder can substitute.
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce Use tamari for gluten-free.
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard Optional.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice Fresh is best.
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger Optional; use less if using ground ginger.
For Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Salt To taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper To taste.

Method
 

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper. Let rest for 5 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and ginger.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil, and once hot, place the salmon skin-side down.
  4. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is golden brown. Flip the salmon and pour the honey garlic sauce over it.
  5. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Remove from skillet.
  6. Serve hot and drizzle remaining sauce over the salmon. Enjoy with vegetables or salad.
