Ingredients
  

Steamed Oranges
  • 2 pieces Oranges Fresh oranges for vitamin C
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Sea salt or kosher salt recommended

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Start by rinsing each orange thoroughly under running water to remove any residues. While rinsing, gently rub a small amount of salt on the skin.
  2. Once the oranges are clean, carefully cut off the top quarter of each orange to create a lid.
  3. Sprinkle approximately 1 teaspoon of salt into the hollowed portion of each orange and poke small holes throughout the fruit’s flesh.
  4. Carefully place the tops back onto the oranges and position each orange in individual bowls or a steamer basket.
  5. Fill a pot with water, bring to a simmer, and place the bowl with the oranges over the simmering water. Cover and steam for about 20 minutes.
  6. Once steamed, remove from pot and serve by scooping out the tender orange segments or slicing into wedges.
