  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 pinch Salt

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Slice the day-old croissants into thick pieces, about 1 to 2 inches each, and layer half in the greased baking dish. Sprinkle half of the chocolate chips over this layer.
  3. Repeat the layering process with the remaining croissants and chocolate chips.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  5. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the layered croissants and chocolate chips, pressing down gently. Let soak for about 10–15 minutes.
  6. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until the top is golden brown and the center is slightly wobbly.
  7. Allow cooling for 5–10 minutes before slicing and, if desired, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
