- Slice the flank steak against the grain into thin strips, about ¼ inch thick. Marinate with soy sauce, peanut oil, and cornstarch for 10 minutes.
- Whisk together chicken stock, Shaoxing wine, dark soy sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch in a bowl until smooth.
- Bring about half an inch of water to boil in a nonstick skillet, steam the broccoli for about 1 minute until bright green and slightly tender.
- Heat the skillet over high heat, add a splash of peanut oil, sear the marinated beef for about 30 seconds on each side, then add garlic and ginger for another 15 seconds.
- Return steamed broccoli to the skillet, pour the sauce over, and stir to combine. Cook for about 1 minute until sauce thickens.
- Transfer the stir-fry to a serving plate and enjoy hot, preferably with steamed rice.
